On 23 August 2022, Bishop Alwyn Barreto paid a canonical visit to Milagris Cathedral, Sawantwadi. The parish priest, Fr Milet along with the parish pastoral council members, along with other association heads, welcomed Bishop Alwyn.
As part of the visit, Bishop Alwyn met with youth, CFC, prayer group, choir group, the fabrickars and other active members of the parish. Bishop Alwyn also met with the priests and religious women. As part of his canonical visitation, Bishop Alwyn will be visiting other parishes as well. Fr Alex D’mello, the south-deanery Dean had a prior visit to the parish in view of the canonical visit. He also presented a report to Bishop Alwyn on the criteria which were set by him.
