Bishop Alwyn blesses ‘SAMET’ legal services clinic

On 9th Nov 2021, Bishop Alwyn Baretto blessed and inaugurated the ‘SAMET’ legal services clinic at the old bishop’s house in Kankavli. The office was inaugurated by Judge Mhalatkar, in the presence of Fr Manuel D’silva, Director of the diocesan Justice and Peace Commission, Fr Francis D’souza, Dean of North Deanery and Fr Alex D’mello, Dean of South Deanery; Fr Cajiton Rodrigues, Fr Amit D’Britto OFM Cap, Fr Alwyn Gonsalves, Fr Gilbert Coalso and Fr Francis V, along with parishioners of the north deanery.

The objective of the clinic is to offer legal advice especially to the poor in matters of civil disputes and also domestic problems between husband and wife. The main aim is to settle disputes outside the court and before approaching the police so that matters are settled amicably and do not prolong.

The timings and days are as follows:

Monday to Friday, 10 am to 12 pm
